Great Paxton shop is run by volunteers for the community. We are open 7 days a week, this is all made possible by volunteers and our shop manager, Michelle.
Volunteering can help you make new friends, learn new skills, gain work experience, advance your career, and even make you feel happier and healthier. We have a great range of people volunteering for the shop, from a retired 89 year old gentleman who loves his time behind the till to several young ladies who are doing their Duke of Edinburgh awards with us.
We split the day into 2-hour shifts so its never too long for any one person. Whilst we do already have a fabulous group of volunteers, we need more people to join us to spread the load and keep our community shop open.
Can you spare 2 hours a week? Would you love to be part of our friendly team?
Hello! I am Michelle Oakley. I joined as the shop manager in March 2018 and haven’t looked back. I live in Great Paxton with my husband, Jeff, my two daughters Libby and Faith and (currently) 9 goldfish. I feel very honoured to be a part of this lovely community shop. Every day I am able to meet and chat to some great people and be a part of this lovely village and community life.
